To what extent do you agree or disagree with the draft Design Guidelines?

Positive

Do the three scales (Doorstep, Streets and Destinations) capture the three main types of ‘places’ that a young person in Hackney will grow up and move through the Borough?

Yes. I especially like the recognition of the doorstep.

Is there anything that should be added or changed in the draft Design Guidelines ?

Street needs to be looked at broadly recognising different ages and modes of transport for children from buggy, walking, scooting, cycling, bus

The guidelines are extensive and encourage child-friendly use of space for all types of play or journeys a child will undertake. The guidelines encourage independence in travel. Do the three scales (Doorstep, Streets and Destinations) capture the three main types of ‘places’ that a young person in Hackney will grow up and move through the Borough? Yes. The Streets place guidance and case study of transforming parking spaces to parklets is fantastic and parklets should be encouraged for community and businesses, so there are places for young people to stop, park their bike, be with friends and enjoy nature.

I like that the guidelines encourage space to be child-friendly. I really support that the guidelines encourage independent travel for children of appropriate age.

Yes I think so. I like the idea of parklets on more streets as they give space back that can encourage meeting and making friends, for adults and children alike, rather than the 'dead space' that a parked car is.

The draft seems ok. I am not sure about actual involvement of children in the design process, however their needs must be listened to!

I think so

Is there anything that should be added or changed in the draft Design Guidelines ?

Probably new schools should be stand alone and not part of huge developements (HNPS or HOLY TRINITY) As this only cause a conflict of interest in the use of the space.
